Enlarged Prostate
Enlarged Prostate - How To Identify It?
Enlarged Prostate is a gland present in all men since their birth however it starts to enlarge after the age of 45 years. It is a part of the aging process in males like graying of hair and baldness.
It affects millions of men every year and it is a very well treatable condition by Urologists. When the prostate has grown to be substantially large, the urethra gets tightly squeezed and this makes it difficult for the bladder to compensate for the problem and empty entirely.
In some extreme cases, it may lead to complete blockage in passage of urine termed as Urine retention. Prostate enlargement also increases the chances of urinary tract infections, bladder diverticula, bladder stones and kidney damage.

- IPSS questionnaire: This test refers to the International Prostate Symptom Score questionnaire which allows the doctor to comprehend how serious the symptoms are.
